Was just reading about this online and feel drawn towards receiving attunements with this form of reiki, especially since I am practicing kundalini yoga. Before I spend my money online on a distance attunement though, I was wondering if any of you had any experiences with this, or any specific website practicioner?

Re: kundalini reiki
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 7:09 PMYea, what Erica says.
Consider the logic of this--
learn a hands-on healing system
without every being touched by the master?
What can you learn? Sure you might receieve
some energy, but you might not. Internet
is a great market for selling "air." -

Re: kundalini reiki
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 10:20 PMOne reason I wouldn't do or have someone do distance healings for money. It'd be too tempting to just take the money and say I did it without putting the effort into the actual task. -

Re: kundalini reiki
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 10:58 PMTotally agree with all of you on this issue, but the prices were actually quite reasonable for this - $21 for one attunement, $63 for all three levels... and since I just spend $250 on an usui reiki level 1 attunement and feel like I really need to work on my grounding much more (something kundalini helps more than reiki and it appears to me can be achieved more easily via kundalini enactment) I really don't think I'd mind pissing away 60 bucks on a complete waste if it is just that. While I agree with the temptation of taking the money and running I'd think a) one could get a lot more money from unsuspecting saps if they wanted and b) merely the fact that I'd be setting the intention for whatever time in order to receive the attunement would likely create said attunement (after all it's from divine energy anyways... the person is merely acting as a conduit).

Re: kundalini reiki
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 11:00 PMAlso... the rationale for distant attunements made some solid sense to me... less distraction and more inward focus. I know during the reiki attunement I just received I felt like I was too curious and interested in what the master was doing and did not focus enough on myself. -

Re: kundalini reiki
Thu, March 20, 2008 - 5:04 AMHi, Bryan. Yes, I seem to remember that you just recently underwent a Reiki 1 attunement. Why take another attunement now, from someone else, when you just recently got attuned? If it were me, I'd want to wait and see what unfolded from the first attunement, plus I would probably want to rely on that first Reiki master (at least for a while) as a source of encouragement and knowledge. I'd be doing daily self-Reiki and probably practicing Hatsureiho (Reiki sitting breath meditation).
You can always keep the Kundalini Reiki attunement in mind as a possibility for 'down the line'.
By the way, besides feeling a bit distracted, what was the upshot of your attunement? How did your RM feel it went, how did you feel it went? And how has your practice of Reiki gone since that attunement? Has your RM told you anything of value about your situation now that you're attuned?

Re: kundalini reiki
Thu, March 20, 2008 - 5:23 AMThat's another thing, loyalty to the techer you have.
Working with the energy you are still in the process of integrating.
Maybe it makes sense to not rush into something new, but
to settle into what you have.

Re: kundalini reiki
Thu, March 20, 2008 - 7:01 PMThe kund. reiki questions were definitely for "down the line" and I am in contact with my RM currently. I don't know much about Hatsureiho, but I have been doing Kundalini Yoga and meditation with that. I haven't had as much time to practice reiki as I would have liked to do to a hectic week at school (i've actually been in a bit of a depressive funk after undergoing my attunement strangely), but as spring break begins tomorrow I plan on creating a solid routine in the coming days that I can keep working with throughout the next few months at least.
The RM thought the attunement went wonderfully, and I feel it did as well and that any distraction on my part was minor. During my daily practices (although they've been often brief and rushed), i have felt the heat common with reiki treatments flowing through both my hands and body. I'm currently awaiting reply from my RM after sending her a detailed e-mail about my experience this past week.
Thanks for replies Tanemon and all. I love being part of this community.

Fri, March 21, 2008 - 3:56 AM>> (i've actually been in a bit of a depressive funk after undergoing my attunement strangely)
Its not strange Bryan, the Reiki i attunement can create an upheavel of spirit and emotion. You have accepted the energy through you and its basically doing what its there to do. Reiki works on the practitioner as well as the receiever. And it can bring up stuff in your personal life and experiences that can sometimes sting a little. I received all three attunements with the same group of friends over a period of 18 months. I was lucky in that we could all meet and talk about our experiences and give each other Reiki.... or kleenex depending on the situation :)
You just need a few minutes when you wake up to centre, push out the negativity and draw down some healing energy. Don't let things get to you, its part of the process and you'll get through it. Feel better.

Re: kundalini reiki
Sun, March 23, 2008 - 2:45 PMBryan,
I know some people may disagree with me but it doesn't matter if you focused on the reiki attunement or not. What matters is if the person giving the attunement focused. You made a commitment to recieve the attunement.
As for Kundalini Rieki, I never heard of it before either, and I am leary of internet distance attunements from someone you don't know. If you don't think it is a big deal, go ahead and do it. You may get some intersting energy from it.

Re: kundalini reiki
Fri, March 21, 2008 - 1:39 PMYes, but that is fraud, no different than if someone orders a physical product or service, you take the payment for it and don't deliver what was ordered. It may be harder to prove that no healing (or attunement) was undertaken than to not receive a physical product in the mail, but it is still fraud.
Which is not alas to say there aren't of course those who will defraud. And one may be tempted, but what kind of karma does that incur in one's own continuum? A parked car is unlocked with the keys in the ignition... but driving it off is still theft.

Re: kundalini reiki
Thu, March 20, 2008 - 6:08 AMKundalini is kind of "Life force" mine is out of balance and in need of balance. Thank you to those who send distant healing to me. here is a poem from Black Elk:
Grandfather, Lean to hear me.....Black Elk Message Grandfather, Great Spirit, once more behold
me on earth and lean to hear my feeble voice.
You lived first, and you are older than all need,
older than all prayer. All things belong to you
-- the two-legged, the four-legged, the wings
of the air, and all green things that live.
You have set the powers of the four quarters
of the earth to cross each other. You have made
me cross the good road and road of difficulties, and
where they cross, the place is holy. Day in, day out,
forevermore, you are the life of things.
Hey! Lean to hear my feeble voice.
At the center of the sacred hoop
You have said that I should make the tree to bloom.
With tears running, O Great Spirit, my Grandfather,
With running eyes I must say
The tree has never bloomed
Here I stand, and the tree is withered.
Again, I recall the great vision you gave me.
It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives.
Nourish it then
That it may leaf
And bloom
And fill with singing birds!
Hear me, that the people may once again
Find the good road
And the shielding tree.
I suffer from panick attacks and anxiety my Kundalini is out of wack although I work to heal myself I am in a poluted environment and have no choice at present but to ask for healing until I come back to the USA,
Please send your healing and thank you. For those who do not know of the Kundalini I suggest you goole for info.
Respectfully,
Kalona

Re: kundalini reiki
Mon, March 24, 2008 - 11:12 AMI am attuned to Kundalini Reiki and I find it to be VERY powerful and energizing. i use it along w/my regular Reiki practice. you should definately consider it. also, distance Reiki attunement work along the same way as sending distance healing (although not everyone will agree with me on that). make sure the person who is attuning you is a respectable person who won't rip you off. or maybe see if someone near you will do it in person. good luck!!!

Re: kundalini reiki
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 8:16 AMHey Bryan--- I am originally from a town close to binghamton (Owego NY) , so it's interesting hearing about your experience getting attuned in B-town. Anyways, I found this great resource. I am not attuned to reiki, but am using this site and a few others, trying to learn more... I, like you, haven't even recieved reiki (well that's what you said in some other post you wrote--- when talking about getting attuned-- i'm sure you have recieved reiki now unlike me :) ) but I am attracted to reiki, and I read this one book on reiki and like, all of a sudden my energy started flowing weird, so....
But I found a practitioner's list on this web site , reiki.7gen.com
and you might be able to find a kundalini reiki master that could attune you face to face, somewhere in the NYS/PA neighborhood.
